Day 1: Marrakech → Ouarzazate → Draa Valley
Depart Marrakech and travel south through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, stop to enjoy panoramic views over mountain villages and deep valleys.
Continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic Berber ksar, once a key stop on ancient caravan trade routes and famously used as a filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and many more. Continue toward the Draa Valley, arriving in the evening to settle into your accommodation for the night inThe Heart of the Palm groves.
Day 2: Draa Valley → Merzouga Desert
Journey through the lush Draa Valley, famous for its vast palm groves. Stop in Agdz to explore remnants of historic caravan routes before continuing toward the Sahara.
Visit the lively Rissani souk, an important trading center of the region, then drive on to Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. In Khamlia village, enjoy about an hour of traditional Gnaoua trance music performed by Sudanese-Berber musicians, accompanied by mint tea, with time to walk through the village.
In the late afternoon, embark on a memorable camel ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to reach your desert camp.
Day 3: Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley
Wake early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, then return by 4/4 to your riad, observing the changing colors of the sand as daylight unfolds. Then depart toward the dramatic Todra Gorges, Morocco’s highest and narrowest canyon. Then Travel along The Berber villages Along the way Arrive in Dades valley, a peaceful Valley for the Night.
Day 4: Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Marrakech
Travel through the Valley of Roses near El Kelaa des Mgouna, arriving to skoura and Explore Skoura’s Valley of One Thousand Kasbahs, a fertile oasis offering striking contrasts between desert landscapes and the Atlas Mountains. Visit the 17th-century Kasbah Amridil, a well-preserved fortified residence once associated with the Glaoui family.
Continue to Ouarzazate for an opt visit to the renowned Atlas Film Studios, where movies such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Kingdom of Heaven were filmed. In the afternoon, begin the scenic drive back to Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains once again with drop off at your accommodation in Marrakech
